ABOUT

WFWP Australia is a National Chapter of WFWP International; an organisation united globally by the vision of promoting women as an essential partner in creating a peaceful global society.

WFWP is a dynamic international women’s organisation that promotes women as an essential partner in creating a peaceful global society. The organisation is united globally by this vision, while addressing the unique issues and barriers in each region at the grassroots level, and through high-level events through WFWPI UN regional offices.

As a not for profit organisation in General Consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), WFWP is committed to providing women with the opportunity to create lasting peace in the world centring on the inherent feminine characteristics of care, empathy, nurturing and cooperation. The family is the cornerstone for peace, and mature couples are the foundation for strong and loving families.

WFWP encourages and supports every woman to become a ‘woman of peace’ through educating with values and fostering a culture of heart – the mother’s heart to care not just for her own children, but for the children of other communities, other nations and of the world.

WFWP focus activities:

  • Sustainable Development

  • Human Rights

  • Women, Peace, and Security

  • Global Development & Aid Projects

WFWP INTERNATIONAL

FWP International was established in 1992 by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Dr. Moon and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, are a remarkable couple who have worked together for over 50 years to pioneer a way for peace on the global arena.

History is calling for reconciliation, compassion, love, service and sacrifice. Today’s problems cannot be solved by the logic of power… Our present problems can only be solved by the logic of love.

Dr Hak Ja Han Moon, the International President of the Women’s Federation for World Peace, has dedicated her life to the quest for peace. Along with her husband, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, she has worked with heads of state, Nobel prize winners, religious leaders, and men and women of the arts to create a world of peace.

This pursuit has taken her to the halls of power. In July of 1993, she was the first Korean woman to address a meeting of United States Senators and Congressmen on Capitol Hill. Two months later, on September 7, Dr Moon became the first Korean woman to give an address in the United Nations.

Her message on both these occasions connected women’s responsibility in the quest for world peace with the deepest elements of human existence: the heart of God, the suffering of humanity, and the meaning of human history. As a mother of 14, she is a woman of intense devotion to God, to the world, and to her husband and family – a woman of true love.
